Our Team

Max Shack, APCC

Hello everyone, my name is Max, and I am an Associate Counselor with a strong foundation in clinical mental health and human services. I earned my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a master’s degree in human services from Wake Forest University. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who are navigating trauma, depression, and anxiety. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and client-centered, focusing on helping individuals reframe unhelpful thought patterns, process lived experiences, and build practical tools for lasting change. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and respected. My goal is to help clients develop resilience, gain insight, and move toward meaningful and fulfilling lives.

I believe that people are not defined by their problems and that meaningful change is possible when clients are empowered to recognize their values, abilities, and resilience. Their therapeutic approach is practical, goal-oriented, and client-centered, while also honoring each individual’s unique experiences and perspectives. Committed to creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, I strive to help clients develop effective coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
