Areas of Speciality

It takes personal courage to seek help of any type. Please congratulate yourself for reaching out to a professional to assist you in sorting life’s difficulties into positive change.

I use a therapeutic research-based environment that is client focused, meets the client where they are in life, and understands the importance of life’s historical events. Some therapeutic tools used in session are DBT, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma Focused Therapy. Also used is Assisted Pet Therapy. Working with me is a trained, licensed Therapy Dog. Harry is a Golden Retriever- Border Collie mix. He is able to attend sessions, or not, depending upon client wishes.

My background includes a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler, as well as a Master of Arts in Counseling from Amberton University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I began my professional career as a Unit Psychologist at Terrell State Hospital and went on to serve in a consulting capacity to residential treatment facilities including Metrocare MHMR Dallas, Access MHMR East Texas, and most recently as a trauma and substance use counselor at a nonprofit Crisis Center.

While change is difficult and takes courage, with support and compassion, it can be part of anyone’s life. I would be honored to be a part of that change with you.
