As the Clinical Supervisor for Peace of Mind Wellness and Family Counseling, I am very passionate about helping others as a Licensed Clinical Therapist. Previously a business executive for a Fortune 500 company, I decided to leave the profession and follow my passion for helping others by becoming a therapist 12 years ago. Therefore I bring real-life experience and understanding to my therapeutic approach. I have worked in a Domestic Violence Shelter, Private Practice and most recently as a Clinical Director for a local Hospital.
My educational background includes a BA in Psychology and MS in Clinical Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I have also earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
My approach to treatment is integrative and holistic: I don’t have a “one size fits all” therapy philosophy. Some of the therapies I use include: Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psycho-Dynamic Therapy, Exercise Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused and many others. All of these treatments have been clinically researched and shown to be highly effective. Also, growing up in a multi-cultural family (my Mother is Japanese), I understand the cultural differences that are inherent in all ethnicities.
We all need help at times navigating through life’s difficult challenges… You may be experiencing problems. Problems that may feel like you are stuck and there is no way out. You are not alone. We can work collaboratively and find effective solutions to help you feel good again and take control of your life.
Population Served: Individual adults, couples, and families.
